Program Planning

Mountain Alliance Halloween Program

October 2025

Overview

The Mountain Alliance Halloween Festival was a community engagement event developed for high school students participating in the School's Out program at Watauga High School. The event was designed to provide a safe, supervised, and engaging after-school experience through Halloween-themed games, activities, food, a movie, and a costume contest. Working alongside Mountain Alliance staff, our team planned and executed the event from initial concept through implementation, focusing on participant engagement, event logistics, safety, and overall program quality. Approximately 60 students attended the festival.

My Role

As a member of the four-person planning team, I worked directly with our program supervisor, Sarah Briggs, Mountain Alliance's School's Out Coordinator, to develop and execute the School's Out Halloween Event at Watauga High School. Throughout the planning process, our team created the program's goals and objectives, detailed timeline, program content plan, risk management strategy, promotional materials, and logistical framework. My responsibilities included creating and maintaining project documents, coordinating timelines, assisting with event promotion, gathering donations, supporting activity development, and helping manage event logistics. On the day of the event, I assisted with setup, activity supervision, participant engagement, and overall event operations to ensure the program was delivered safely, efficiently, and according to the established plan.
